This majestic entrance is in the Renaissance style (18th century). Owned by René d'Anjou, Count of Provence, in the 15th century, it was extensively modified in the 17th and 18th centuries. It now houses the Town Hall. Through this imposing porch, one enters the castle courtyard.
Having been used for the expansion of the castle and for the construction of certain homes in the historic center of Peyrolles, this abandoned place in the middle of the forest is worth coming for a peaceful stroll. A vestige of the Roman aqueduct of Traconnade from the 2nd century brings a little more strangeness to this end of its career...
